Tea and Pang Susi in Malacca. Pang is Kristang for bread (creolised from Portuguese Pao). Susi is a mystery - no one seems to know why its called that. The dough is half sweet potato half flour, so the skin is crisp then soft and pillowy under it like Challah bread. The filling is what you might find in a Cornish Pasty but with a signature Eurasian flourish of East Indies spice: cinnamon, clove, nutmeg.Another mystery is why it's not more popular and only available in Eurasian enclaves.
