Make money doing the work you believe in

These days I’m thinking a lot about video games. Video games as art, or experiential essays; what’s under the hood of a satisying loop (i.e., the code logic powering crafting or resource generation mechanisms); how art + music + narrative + simulation + in-game rules + player choices merge to yield the overall experience, and how all those components are balanced. As always, I’m reading a bunch of sources on the subject, and dabbling a little bit with game design on the side. And as always, it probably won’t amount to anything. But still, I do it.
