I’m quite happy with how this essay turned out, but be warned, it’s not a very deep dive. It reifies the general Marxist position on the connection between consciousness and ideology, grounding both of them in material processes. The only original aspect of it is my reframing nationalism not as a “false consciousness” but as a “partial consciousness” and a necessary stepping stone towards revitalizing Marxism. This will also be one of the last of such essays reformulating and clarifying dialectical materialism (the next one, which will be on value transformation, will be the last). After that, I will begin to write polemics again.
