NVIDIA Announces Partnerships with Space Companies Including Planet Labs, Firefly Aerospace, Kepler Communications, Starcloud, and Sophia Space for AI Computing in Orbit

NVIDIA revealed collaborations with commercial space companies Planet Labs, Firefly Aerospace, Kepler Communications, Starcloud, and Sophia Space to deploy its AI hardware such as Jetson Orin, IGX Thor, H100 GPU, and Vera Rubin Space-1 module.

The partnerships target applications including Earth orbit imagery processing, radio frequency analysis, synthetic aperture radar, and autonomous space operations.

Planet Labs is building a GPU-native AI engine for real-time planetary intelligence from satellite imagery, Firefly Aerospace is integrating Jetson on Elytra spacecraft for lunar imagery, Kepler Communications is powering space-based cloud infrastructure, Starcloud plans a 5GW orbital data center, and Sophia Space is embedding AI into modular orbital compute platforms.
