In the Phaedo, Plato explores this idea, among many others of great importance, providing an interesting perspective on the permanence of the soul, and even more importantly, on the relationship between body and psyche, the role of virtue, truth, and philosophy as a path to the immortal part of the human being. In many of his dialogues, the idea of philosophy as the only way to achieve immortality, true happiness, and an existence after death is constantly explored and defended.
