Qi is the fundamental life force permeating all things, connecting and animating the entire universe.
When Qi flows freely, we have perfect health. When it's blocked, disease takes hold.
After the 1947 communist revolution, Qigong was suppressed in China. Mao saw it as part of the old world he wanted to destroy.
Many masters were imprisoned, including Master Kwan, the teacher of Dr. Hong Liu.
Dr. Liu was trained in both Western medicine and Qigong. He represents the rare bridge between two worlds.
Master Kwan's diagnostic method defied science. He never asked what was wrong. He looked at a patient briefly, as if studying a curious flower, then named the illness and its precise location.
He healed by projecting Qi, pointing his fingers, holding his hands near the body, unblocking the flow.
There are three ways to transmit Qi:
through acupuncture needles,
through direct touch of acupuncture points,
and most powerfully, through remote transmission across distance.
Dr. Liu was puzzled. How could his master heal without science?
His mother gave him the answer: "What this master possesses isn't magic. It is just science that has not yet been examined."
When the training grew hard, she taught him Gong Fu, power that comes from the heart.
Technical perfection without heart-energy has no impact. Mastery requires giving everything.
Dr. Liu brought Qigong into his Shanghai hospital. He treated terminal cancer patients given no hope. The results stunned his colleagues.
The measurements were undeniable. Thirty seconds of emitted Qi produced major increases in circulation and significant drops in heart rate, in every patient tested.
In animal studies, 75% of cancer-induced subjects showed significant tumor reduction when treated with Qigong.
Over 5,000 cancer patients later, Dr. Liu's conclusion was firm: Qigong made a positive difference in every one.
His thesis: the most powerful medicine is the marriage of East and West.
He came to America with a sense of mission, recognizing that for all its material wealth, the West had forgotten the energy that is the source of all life.
The deepest healing isn't found in suppression or in stimulation. It's found in restoring the flow.
