I used to set the table like this for the kids at Easter time.. Daffodils gathered in thick yellow handfuls, pulled out the nice teapots, tiny cakes and sugared things arranged to delight. It wasn’t about the food, not really, but the feeling.. something good was happening. I think now how small rituals like this hold their shape in my memory.. their hands reaching in and how, without realizing it, we were practicing wonder in the ordinary days.
