Makayla Rene Settles, 18, moved from North Carolina to California to live with her biological father, Stephen Vincent Chavez.

Just two days later, he raped her so violently she had to be carried to the hospital by her uncle because she couldn't walk.

Chavez was arrested. But now prosecutors are considering dropping the charges because Makayla died by suicide… and they say without her testimony, it's "he said/she said." 🤬

Her previous statements to police and medical personnel are evidence. She deserves justice.
