The queers are getting closer to their dream of ending marriage equality.

By redescribing gay men and lesbians as “queers,” indistinguishable from extremists who want to abolish the sex binary, they tell a story of a gay community that rejects marriage, loathes mainstream society, and wants to subvert every social institution in order to “queer” it. And that is indeed what the queers want to do: the invasion of other people’s spaces, the transing of children, the end of the sex binary are all queer objectives. This is the queer agenda and it is aimed not just at straights but at any gay or lesbian who stands up against it.

And they are beginning to convince more and more people, especially on the right, that this is indeed who we gay men and women are: extremists, subversives, leftists. Their message about gay people uncannily echoes the old right’s view that gay people cannot be integrated, are threats to society and hurt kids. That’s a vie that kept us marginalized for ever.

What the queers will never accept or even understand is that the key to winning marriage rights was changing the narrative about gay men and lesbians away from “queers” to that of regular people, with regular lives and goals. We spent many years re-setting the narrative - which is far truer about gay men and women than the idea that we are all radicals. And now the queers, who always loathed the winning narrative, and tried to destroy those of us built it, are re-establishing the losing narrative again. And it’s having the predictable results.

Marriage wasn’t in danger from the right until the queers took over the gay rights movement. It will only be safe if the queers are removed from positions of power and from being the only gay and lesbian voices most people hear.

The queers don’t represent the silent majority of gays. And they are a real and present danger to us.
