- it can't be used to search the web

- it can't be used to write prose (and it would be unethical to ask it to do this anyway)

- it cannot reliably summarize or reference a document

- it lies about what it can and cannot do

- it cannot give real feedback on work

- it can't be trusted not to plagiarize the work of others

- it cannot keep track of a conversation

- it routinely and authoritatively presents false information

- it is programmed to keep me engaged, wasting my time

*LLMs may seem knowledgeable if you ask them about something you yourself don’t know anything about, but ask about your own area of expertise and you’ll quickly see how even basic, very easily-acquired facts, like those that appear at the top of Wikipedia articles, will be wrong.
