Just listened to a really interesting interview with a literary agent and learned a few things writers might want to know:

• The most queries this agent is receiving is from those writing memoir

• “There are too many cults”: Lately there have been a lot of queries from people with stories about escaping cults

• It takes about 10 touch points before a person is convinced to buy a book, which means they need to hear about the book from about 10 different places or 10 different times before they purchase

• The avg American reads three books a year
