Since Substack came out I was apprehensive to share my writing. I’ve loved reading so many wonderful, raw, honest, inspiring Substacks. Two weeks ago, I took the plunge. At first I wanted to remain anonymous. After all, I was writing about sex. Or rather, after not having sex for 6 years at the age of 50 I ventured out into the world of Tinder, Bumble and Hinge.
This is all to say, two posts in, this morning I hit 100 subscribers. Thank you to my readers. Thank you to all of you who inspired me to start sharing what I’ve been quietly writing in the background for the past few years. All 100 of you have given me the green light to keep sharing. To stop hiding. To share the raw, often embarrassing truths about Summer of Men.
AND, Substack just notified me Summer of Men is #14 in rising ‘bestselling’ (not sure what that means because I’m not really selling anything) fiction. To be in the top 15 along with The Shit No One Tells You About Writing and The Gay Erotic, I’m stunned.
