As I understand it, there are a few schools of thought on these "entities". That they are the descendents of the Nephilim, so actually demons. Or they are some reptilian life form? Or alien, otherworldly lifeforms? If any of these are true, except for perhaps the reptilian notion, then...they don't need any of the things that keep us alive. However, they all seem to have an affinity for our blood, and specifically children so....would we just be grown in pods then..."Matrix" style, underground or off planet. Are they now, and perhaps they already have an ample supply....? Is that where these children are disappearing to?
