“OpSec, or operational security, is the idea that one should manage the flow of information for the security of an individual, group, community, etc. that is credibly under threat of infiltration or abuse by a second or third party opposed to the individual, group, or community effort. The techniques employed depend heavily on the medium of organizing (online, hybrid, in-person), the assessed level of threat, the potential harm done if there is a security breach, and interpersonal dynamics that may color how information is disseminated and protected.”
