I worried today that I might not be enough for my dog.

Percy has spent the weekend running with Zeus, his best friend, a larger Corgi, and now that Zeus has gone home, he seems sad.

Then I realized something.

Missing one relationship doesn't diminish another.

We can love our families and miss our friends.

We can love our homes and miss places we've lived.

We can love the life we have and still miss what was.

Sometimes, missing something is simply evidence that it mattered.

That's not a deficiency. It's truly a gift.
