I had a call last week with a founder who spent the first ten minutes asking me what I look for post-investment, how often I expect updates, and whether I've ever had a disagreement with a founder over strategy.
I almost forgot I was supposed to be evaluating her.
That was the point. She wasn't there to impress me. She was deciding whether I was worth taking money from.
That is a different kind of founder. That is exactly the kind I want in my portfolio.
