It’s my first Fete de Nationale (Bastille Day to Americans) and here in Tours the Parade was a rather somber occasion. My friend says they take freedom quite seriously, which is commendable. I think the wild partying, dancing and so forth was down on the Cher River in the south part of town. I really would have enjoyed seeing the light spectacle featuring 200 drones, but since sundown is past my bedtime, so were the drones. Darn!
