Ryan Coogler's Michael B. Jordan-starring vampire flick is off to a solid start, especially for an original, R-rated chiller. Now we just hope that it's not frontloaded and that the good buzz entices the unconverted.

March Madness is done. The Masters is in the rearview mirror. The NBA and NHL playoffs will be done in a month or so. The sports calendar in the summer is sparse with baseball as the mainstay along with some tennis grand slams, F1 races, and the occasional high profile golf tournament. Hardly the big draws of Fall and Winter with college and pro football.

I'll be watching to see if sportsbooks and prediction markets can keep up the momentum and news cycles they've racked up this spring or if th…

I wrote this for Foreign Policy three years ago. Unfortunately, it is as current today as it was then. The Taliban use “counter terrorism” as cover for killing their enemies, among them former military personnel who fought alongside US & NATO troops until the August, 2021, withdrawal. Read on:

Thank you for this. Always a voice of reason. I have to share that at my first Medicare 'well check' in February of 2022, my physician (part of a large hospital system in southern California) urged me to get the Covid vaccine, although I had told him multiple times that I had no intention of getting it, and that I had survived a Covid infection already during the Delta wave. He then said that should I change my mind I could go to any local pharmacy to get the shot. I told him that if I wanted t…

Yes I agree they are a TOTAL waste of time! It’s just the way for the healthcare providers to keep churning the money that they get from Medicare. After my most recent ‘wellness check’ I got a $50 Mastercard in the mail for doing it. I used it to buy myself a lovely new turquoise and silver necklace! 😉🤪
