I’m so touched you cited my late father, Bill Bright, (and his Coyote book) in your story about Joni Mitchell. He would be thrilled.
As you might guess, Bill loved the “Hejira” album, this song. He gave me the LP as a present when it came out— I was 16 and just beginning to understand a lyric like this.
In his view, she really got it, the ineffable Coyote; somehow she captured him for a fleet moment on her strings and between her legs. I get chills watching that Toronto session at Gord’s.
