Today. After 20 years, I completed an examination of conscience, made a full confession, and re-entered the Catholic faith. Reflecting on 20 years worth of sin and wrongdoing in the eyes of the church was difficult, but also a gift to realize how much I have to be grateful for. I now believe we all have more people who want the best for us rather than the worst. Letting go and being absolved of 20 years of sin with extremely little penance asked in return was extremely humbling.
I used to think it’d be the coolest job to be a travel writer. It was just this week as I was working on a piece on our trip to see Our Lady of Guadalupe (will share when its published) that I realized that I actually sort of am one… And the thing is, I love it for a lot of reasons - as a way to share, of course, but also to reflect and to look back over the years. I have pieces ranging back to when I walked the Camino 18 years ago through last year in Rome with my 5 kids and a lot more. It doesn’t exactly pay all the bills, but it sure is fulfilling.
Sad to hear about the loss of Gene Hackman. He was one of my all-time favorite actors.

Thank you for sharing this. There are some great resources listed. I am considering treating myself to the FSC writing course for my birthday (October). May have just done click and collect (Waterstones) on a couple of the books too. 😊
Hope you had a good weekend, and this week is kind to you.
