🥊 Quickfire updates from the world of boxing 🥊

The weekend’s boxing action sees Michael Conlan defend his WBC International featherweight title versus Kevin Walsh in Belfast later this evening. Conlan is on the final tour to the top and should have too much class for an untested foe.

Carlos Adames defends his WBC middleweight title against Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams in Florida. Adames’ firepower and strength should see him through.

George Liddard looks to add a credible name to his record when he welcomes Tyler Denny to the Copper Box Arena. Denny is a respected former European champion, now on the slide. Liddard will be too fresh.

Lester Martinez seeks to get one step closer to a Canelo fight or perhaps a rematch with Christian Mbilli, whom he boxed to a draw last September. The opponent in this California WBC Interim super-middleweight title fight is savvy veteran Immanuwel Aleem.

In other news, Jarrell Miller keeps getting opportunities based on his personality rather than actual victories. ‘Big Baby’ is a serial drug offender who meets underwhelming Cuban Lenier Pero in Las Vegas on April 25.

Claressa Shields is rumoured to be boxing Shadasia Green next, if Green gets past former Shields victim Lani Daniels in April. Shields has no serious challenges at these higher weights and needs to get back down to around 160 or lower (if possible) to tempt the likes of Mikaela Mayer or Lauren Price to meet her.

Jose Armando Resendiz defends his newly upgraded WBA super-middleweight belt against Jaime Munguia on the Zurdo Ramirez-David Benavidez undercard in May.

Dalton Smith is expected to make the first defence of his WBC super-lightweight crown at home in Sheffield. Mandatory challenger Alberto Puello will be in the opposite corner in early June.
