The First Sunrise

This year, I watched the first sunrise from the same place, at the same time. It has become a small ritual. Unlike other years, thick clouds covered the eastern sky, and the sun revealed itself only gradually—through shifting light and slowly changing layers of cloud.

As I stood there, time seemed to move differently, inviting me to stay with the moment rather than rush toward what comes next.
