Born and raised in SF, earthquakes don’t phase me, not yet anyway. We grew up being prepared.
The worst was the ‘89 Loma Prieta quake. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. It was intense, but again, didn’t phase me personally. I felt deep compassion for all those who lost family members and/or their homes.
Very early this morning the house jolted, woke me up, and totally freaked out my dog. I felt it shake for a few moments, and reassured her, “It’s okay honey, it was just an earthquake.” I then passed out asleep.
I read this morning it was a 4.6 at 1:41am.
I’ve had multiple conversations with people from other states who say they just can’t get used to it. Earthquakes are what I know.
As I contemplate leaving the state, I looked to avoid hurricanes and tornadoes. I’ve talked to people who are used to those and they’ve said it’s not been a big deal to them personally. That they’d take those natural disasters over earthquakes.
I find that so interesting.
Anyway, just felt the need to acknowledge the quakes we’ve had throughout the morning. Apparently there were a few.
Have a great day!
Blessings!
