It’s so hard to make people care about an AI book deal, but it matters to those of us who write. I know you’re in a bad mood. We’re ALL in a bad mood, and fuck that. We need to do something that makes us and others feel good.

Helping me with a boost is a small mitzvah you can do right now. This story about Mia Ballard has made me so angry, because I’ve been trying everything I can to get my book out into the world

Hachette needs to know about my rock & roll love story THE SOUND OF SETTLING, because aside from writing it myself, it’s also selling and getting read, which is an amazing thing in our current garbage fire climate

My ultimate meta-fanfic has all the components an agent & publisher would want:

—Blurbs from Cameron Crowe and Ellen Barkin

—Rave reviews demanding a sequel (strong first draft in effect!) and a streaming series

—The coolest fan-meets-rock star backstory EVER

—A built-in social media audience

—Actual sales

On top of all of this, there’s my personal struggle to get THE SOUND OF SETTLING out into the world, and people need someone to root for right now

Let’s go, Hachette. The publishing industry is in such a precarious place right now and it needs some positive PR!
