I do think that expecting a designer to reinvent the wheel today is asking a lot, frankly because of the sheer scale of things that already exist, past and present.
What I admire about Matthieu Blazy is that though the wheel itself isn’t drastically altered, he goes deeper into its parts, namely materials, and manipulates them in new and delightful ways. Wools and silks that look like they’re humming with static, fine fringe from leather, panniers for the (very high earning) modern individual.
