President Trump’s comments aboard Air Force One ought to cheer Taiwan and its supporters.

Asked if he & Xi discussed Taiwan, Trump replied: “I heard him out.”

Asked again, Trump said he made no commitment but is confident Xi doesn’t want war

Asked about arms sales to Taiwan, his answer was a little bewildering. He’ll make a determination soon, he said.

But followed up by saying “I have to speak to the person, you know who he is, that’s running Taiwan.”
