The EU ratifies the Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence.

The European Union has formally ratified the Council of Europe’s Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law.

The ratification took place during the 135th Session of the Committee of Ministers in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, with the Council of Europe’s Secretary General in attendance.

This convention is an international agreement that sets out rules for the development and use of artificial intelligence in ways that respect human rights, democratic values, and the rule of law.
