A "visual prompt" is a detailed, copy-paste-ready set of instructions that tells an AI image generator exactly what to create — composition, color palette, typography, style reference, aspect ratio, and branding, all in one block of text.

Think of it like an architectural blueprint versus a sticky note that says "build me a house." One produces exactly what you envisioned. The other produces a guess.

Most people type "make me a LinkedIn ad for my healthcare product" into Midjourney or DALL-E and get something generic. A visual prompt specifies the warm cream background, the floating UI cards with soft shadows, the navy-to-teal gradient, the exact headline text, and the editorial illustration style — so the output looks like your brand (when combined with a skill), every time.

I use visual prompts for every piece of visual content I create. The time savings and output have been great for finding new ways to communicate clinical and health policy ideas (and just for fun!).
