A lot people die mid thirties and aren’t buried till their 80s. A lot with early success spend the later years resting on their laurels. A greater majority just go to seed. There’s only a few who continue to strive, learn, and contribute meaning and understanding to society. Some call it just luck to find something you care so much about and enjoy that it doesn’t feel like work at all. If you’ve been here, even for a little while, you can see that LFAA is a tremendous amount of work that is doing so much good, helping so many understand our current time of troubles. There is a consensus here that Democracy is in the breach and like all hard truths, that is scary. But as each letter informs, each discussion board brings new understanding, reflection, new friends we never physically met. And most of all, new action plans, however small, all contribute to Democracy’s defense. The herd is gathering strength. No longer divided, alone, and apathetic towards our role in our politics.
