Let’s give some praise to Substack CEO Chris Best who (according to the NY Times) turned down Elon Musk’s offer to buy Substack—and potentially put Chris in charge of the entire merged Substack and Twitter business.

This makes clear how the management team at Substack is working to support writers and the entire culture over the long term—instead of (like so many others) selling out to the highest bidder.

I support this longterm vision both as a Substack writer and shareholder. Kudos to Chris Best and his team.
