Genuinely confused about the rise of anonymous substacks—and no, I don’t mean the ones that are intentionally anonymous to protect their identify around sensitive topics, like when they’re revealing intimate personal info like dating or if it would impact their careers like sharing industry secrets. I mean the ones that are about random, non-controversial things, but the user shares no details about their personal life—not even their first name, the country they live in, their hobbies, etc.
It feels a lot less personal and TBH makes me fear some of these accounts are using AI (especially if they’re <2 years old). This is a little controversial, but am I the only one with these thoughts?
