Hello, here is today’s quote. The photo of roses was taken at the coast last year.

January 31

“If I take death into my life, acknowledge it, and face it squarely, I will free myself from the anxiety of death and the pettiness of life and only then will I be free to become myself.”

- Martin Heidegger

Comment: Death is a mystery we rarely get to experience until we die. Sure some of us may come close to it but something or someone calls us back to life here and now. I have read that once we are no longer afraid of death we can embrace life more fully. Maybe if we stopped making death a taboo topic we could make peace with it somehow if need be. Having sat at the bedside of a few people as they lay dying they often want to talk about dying and death. My grandmother wondered if she could keep her memories after she died. We decided, her and I, to believe whatever made her comfortable because neither one of us knew for sure so why not? And since we had both experienced seeing my grandfather after his passing our logic made sense to us. Because how could he have been there with us if he didn’t remember us. But grandma and I, we had to be like two kids plotting a surprise, as other family members would get very upset with me and grandma whenever we spoke of dying. We decided that some people were taking it too seriously, after all death is a where we all go after a well lived life. Blessings all ♥️
