Sometimes I still post ‘takes’, although I loath to call them that. If there was something new to talk about I would. In fact, I do. But ninety-percent of what trans people are talking about these days is what we talked about ten years ago. My thoughts and opinions on passing, chasers, Whipping Girl, sexualization, cruising and DIY are all on record. I don’t feel the need to restate them for a group of people who have not bothered to learn their history and who view me as a dinosaur of the old ways. Digital space has finally produced such an overwhelming and immaterial onslaught of slop, of posting, that even the most important voices in a movement disappear into a permanent black ether within a few years. Hands can only reach into that syrupy suffocating void to pull out vague memories of anger or misattributed guilt.
