Hello Macabre Monday,

I recently visited the School of Medicine Museum in Mexico City. The macabre at this place is off the charts— each room details the history of a medical specialization, going back to the 1800s. There is a room full of eyeballs and a room with life-size recreations of dermatological diseases, among other things. Personally, I spent a lot of time with the skeletons.

I highly recommend it if you are in CDMX and have a strong stomach (its free!). They also have a stunning exhibit on the pre-Hispanic medicinal plants of Mexico, which was not macabre at all but quite lovely. Here are a couple (less gruesome) pics from the museum. May they inspire you to write something horrifying.

Bonus: here’s a link to my newest horror story, which many Macabrians have already liked and shared. Thank you!
