The app for independent voices

Someone threw a Molotov cocktail at Sam Altman's house. A councilman's home was shot at thirteen times over a datacenter project. An activist threatened murder at OpenAI's offices. And on and on.

This kind of political violence is indefensible. No grievance justifies it. And yet it keeps happening.

If you lead an AI company or are a public-facing figure pushing the same narrative, here's the question you should be thinking about: Do you hear how you sound?

You spend every conference, keynote, chat, tweet, telling the world their skills are about to become obsolete, their jobs replaceable, their futures uncertain and then you act surprised when desperation turns violent.

It was a deranged AI safety dude this time. But desperation, as you well know, is only going to grow from now on. If you are right and AI is as disruptive as you claim, people will be angry and frustrated and desperate and they will see no exit and they will turn against the perfect scapegoat: AI.

AI and those enabling it, creating it.

Every previous technological disruption happened to people. This one is being narrated to them by the people causing it. This is a terrible mistake. Be less self-conscious. Be more self-aware.
