The sad thing is, after a successful cyber attack on your small business, the damage has been done and can’t be undone:

🔵 The ransomware encrypted files will likely stay encrypted even if you do pay the couple of thousand pounds ransom

🔵 The banks often don’t refund you for the money stolen out of your bank account

🔵 You may never get your social media accounts back, and if you do it’s a lot of effort

🔵 You will need to report the breach to the ICO in the UK (Information Commissioners Office) if you are a business and hold client details on a computer, and you may get a fine from them if they feel you were negligent

🔵 Your cyber insurance may be invalidated if the insurance company thinks you were not taking adequate precautions.
