FACING SHORTAGES, RUSSIAN AUTHORITIES IN OCCUPIED CRIMEA SUSPEND FUEL SALES
As a result of Ukraine's drone offensive targeting the logistical network supplying the occupied Crimean peninsula, Russian authorities today suspended sale of all fuel to the public. Ukrainian drones have targeted the peninsula's road, rail and sea links over recent weeks.
Over the last three months, Ukrainian drones have gained a qualitative and quantitative edge over Russian air defenses. Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have unleashed dozens of long-range attacks on Russia's fuel sector, including an attack earlier today on a tank farm next to the Kerch Strait Bridge.
Crimean authorities had already capped purchases at 20 liters per vehicle per week as of May 30. Today's order ends sales to civilians entirely.
