When I meet someone who is superior to me in some field (which is almost everyone), I tend to ask about their media habits. For example, what news they follow, which podcasts they listen to, which newsletters they subscribe to, and so on. It is an efficient way of learning more without having to do all the exploring myself. It also leads to interesting conversations, since people rarely get the chance to show off their podcast library.
