I told my mom what I’ve been writing about lately. She paused and said, “Are you sure you’re not just… thinking too much?” Then added, “Your Substack feels a little convoluted.”

And I get it… From the outside, it probably looks like I’ve drifted. Less about places. More about why things feel the way they do.

Then Krystal arrived.

She’s building something of her own. Different path, same energy. Within minutes, she was reflecting things back to me I hadn’t fully said out loud yet.

Not confusion.

Recognition.

That’s when it clicked.

The work makes sense before it makes sense to everyone else.

What I’ve been writing isn’t really about travel. Or even retirement. It’s about why some lives feel easy to operate… and others slowly become something you have to manage.

If something in your life feels heavier than it should… not dramatic, just quietly harder than expected…

that’s usually where the real story is.
