Make money doing the work you believe in

Research on “blue spaces” keeps finding the same pattern: people tend to experience lower stress, better mood, and improved mental restoration around bodies of water.

One proposed mechanism is something psychologists call “soft fascination.”

Water holds attention gently without overwhelming the brain. Waves, reflections, movement, and natural sound patterns may help reduce mental fatigue and downshift stress physiology.

I don’t think sitting by a lake replaces medication, therapy, sleep, exercise, or serious psychiatric care.

But I do think modern brains are processing an enormous amount of stimulation all the time.

Sometimes an hour by water with no notifications and no constant input feels biologically different for a reason.
