Good Morning, this week I will be researching and discussing China’s new Shuiqiao-class landing vessels. China’s new Shuiqiao-class “water bridge” vessels change the dynamic for any Taiwan invasion scenario. These purpose-built barges can link together to form a massive floating pier, letting the PLA land tanks and heavy vehicles at points previously thought inaccessible. This certainly forces Taiwan to defend a much larger coastline, stretching its resources thin and making a rapid PLA buildup far more likely if China secures air and sea control. The Shuiqiao-class vessels don’t guarantee victory, but they dramatically shift the logistical balance in China’s favor.
