For over 20 years, Michael Poulsen has rocked the world as the powerhouse vocalist and guitarist behind Danish rock juggernaut VOLBEAT. With eight full-length albums under their belt and millions of records sold, VOLBEAT has taken over stadiums worldwide. But before all the rock and roll glory, Poulsen was shredding in the death metal underground with DOMINUS, a band that dropped four brutal albums in the ‘90s.

Now, the beast is back! While writing VOLBEAT’s 2021 album Servant Of The Mind, Poulsen started crafting savage death metal riffs that didn’t quite fit with VOLBEAT’s sound—so he stashed them away. After finishing that album, he opened the gates of hell once again and birthed his new death metal project: ASINHELL. Their debut album, Impii Hora (Latin for “Ungodly Hour”), is a ferocious tribute to Poulsen’s favorite old-school death metal bands.

The much-anticipated Impii Hora dropped on September 29, 2023, via Metal Blade, and it's already shaking up the metal scene. Prepare for unrelenting riffs, brutal vocals, and all the intensity you’d expect from a death metal master.
