During the COVID pandemic Australians (generally)went crazy about stockpiling toilet paper. Brawls in the supermarket, beefy security chaps keeping watch over the precious tolls, neighbours picking you up a couple of rolls for you as they knew you were running low. It was just another weird response from humanity in response to scarcity.
I was appalled and embarrassed for our nation, but in truth I had bigger issues to handle at the time.
I’ve just heard on the new, this toilet paper crisis has taken hold in Japan in response to the war and its effects on global shipping.
I’m hoping it doesn’t catch on here. But more than this, I hope for peace, and I really hope it spreads across the world and enters the hearts of the vile war mongers.
