I was told by a young male friend that I was the first person who’d hugged him since his parents stopped hugging him at a very young age. It shocked me. I hug people randomly anytime I feel happy or excited and so do most women. It’s sad that some men don’t get to experience this at all 🥺

If they feel emotional or physical pain, they are taught to hide it and act like it doesn’t matter. Over time, that means their needs go unseen and unmet. After puberty, many even lose access to any form of touch that isn’t sexual. No more hugs from friends or even family, no hand-holding, no cuddles
