Every company has a strategy for finance. For marketing. For sales. Nobody would dream of running those functions without clear direction, priorities, and execution plans.
So why do we treat data & AI like it'll just figure itself out?
Data needs a strategy for the same reason everything else does.
Without one, teams build what they think matters, executives fund what sounds exciting, and nobody ties any of it back to the business.
And that, my friends, is why we data people end up being so pessimistic π
