On Monday night, CBS silenced Stephen Colbert twice.
First they told him he couldn’t have Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico on the show.
Then, they told him he couldn’t tell you that. Just let it vanish. Like it never happened.
What’s interesting about that is that when CBS cancelled Colbert’s show last year, they said late night doesn’t get the numbers anymore. Not worth the money. Nobody’s watching. So then why does it matter so much who sits in that chair?
That question answers itself. And so does this one — Paramount is in an aggressive fight right now to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery and they need the Trump administration’s FCC to approve it. Don’t let them tell you those two things aren’t connected.
