I’ve just finished reading The Correspondent by Virginia Evans and it got me thinking about epistolary novels, where we only get to understand characters through what they reveal about themselves (or not) in letters, texts, emails, diary entries etc. I think my favourite of the genre is 84, Charing Cross Road (not a novel, but cut me some slack here…).
