Also, Nasdaq filed with the SEC in December 2025 to expand trading hours from 16 to 23 hours daily, targeting H2 2026 launch. The proposal includes a “day session” from 4am-8pm Eastern, one hour maintenance, then a “night session” from 9pm-4am. NYSE is pursuing its own 22-hour model, already approved pending infrastructure upgrades.
