Try the 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique.

Look around you and identify":

  • 5 things you can see: Look around and name five distinct objects.

  • 4 things you can feel: Notice four things you can feel (e.g., your feet on the floor, the texture of your clothes, the air on your skin).

  • 3 things you can hear: Listen for three sounds (e.g., birds chirping, traffic, your own breathing).

  • 2 things you can smell: Identify two distinct smells.

  • 1 thing you can taste: Notice the taste in your mouth, or if you have a drink, focus on its flavor.

You will be back to the present reality.

Be mindful and enjoy what you do.
