Today, I turned 33.

Here are 33 things I wish I knew at 20:

  1. No one is coming to save you.

  2. You don't get to avoid having a vision for your life. You either live by a vision you choose, or by one created for you.

  3. It's ok to say no to.

  4. Take 100% responsibility for your health and wealth.

  5. Don't shrink yourself to fit into a box.

  6. Stop worrying about what other people think.

  7. Don't give up on your dreams for someone else.

  8. Create daily.

  9. It's ok to learn from others, but always stay true to yourself.

  10. It's ok to explore, don't narrow yourself too early.

  11. The more you say “I don’t have time to rest, slow down, or sit still” the more you need it.

  12. Be patient.

  13. Be ok with outgrowing people, places, circumstances.

  14. Invest your money.

  15. The things you're hiding are the ones that will resonate with others the most.

  16. Follow your curiosities without needing to justify them.

  17. Give yourself more credit for how hard you are trying.

  18. Play the long game. Overnight success is an illusion.

  19. Never make decisions out of desperation. Panic is not a strategy.

  20. Hold on dearly to the friends who are willing to listen to you talk about your problems. They won't solve your life for you. But they remind you that you have the capacity to solve it yourself.

  21. Once you find your path really go for it.

  22. Stop expecting life to be linear.

  23. Protect your energy. Protect your boundaries.

  24. Don't let anyone dim your light.

  25. Feeling ready is rare. Take action before you feel ready.

  26. Uncertainty doesn't mean there's something wrong with you.

  27. You don't need to have it all figured out by age 30. Even the people you look up to are still figuring things out.

  28. It's ok to have many interests. It's not ok to not take action in any of them.

  29. Fail at something as fast as you can instead of reading 10 books about it.

  30. Tell the people you love that you love them more often.

  31. Forgive yourself and forgive whatever hurt you.

  32. Your past mistakes do not define you.

  33. Be ok with not being liked by everyone and you'll find the people that love you for who you are.

My last $0.02 is to stop taking life so seriously and remember to laugh more.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading.

Before you leave, let me know in the comments which one you resonated with the most.
